My 2020 Goals and why you should publish yours aswell

The ultimate path to self-improvement is extremely rocky and tripping is inevitable. You’ll forget to do the sit-ups, you’ll cheat on your diet, Lost in Hospitality Starteryou’ll get sucked into social media, or you’ll complain and have to switch the bracelet from one wrist to another (Link).

That’s alright. It doesn’t mean you’re a bad person. If you catch yourself eating an Oreo, don’t beat yourself up; just try to stop before you eat the whole sleeve. (Oprah Winfrey)

So, when you mess up, just come back to the habits you’ve been working on. Don’t quit just because you’re not perfect.

Why am I sharing my Goals online?

2020 goals

If you're like me, you have great goals that you want to achieve. You're also like me if you know you've failed to commit to goals you've set for yourself in the past. Its time to stop that, and stick to our commitments. Maybe you want to lose some weight, get stronger, start a business, write a book or eat better. Whatever it is, that's awesome!

You made the first steps. You've got goals, you're on your way.

Let's not let ourselves down this time!

By making these goals public we have more internal pressure to follow them. The people that I share them with, will also likely be following up with me throughout the year, reminding me of the commitment that I made to them, which will make me more likely to follow through on them.

Being accountable is one of the most important factors that helped me to start this project, and I plan on publicly sharing my 2020 progress and goals so that I can remain accountable. I encourage you to do the same.

You can share them with your friends, family, on Facebook, via e-mail, or on your blog.

No one is saying you have to magically transform yourself in 2020, but if you’re not making progress toward the person you want to be, what are you doing? And, more importantly, when are you planning to do it?

LIH wishes the best and most productive year to everyone!
